Called to Order: Meeting was called to order by Chairman Magovem at 7:00pm in the Peirce Room at the
Agawam Library, 750 Cooper Street, Agawam.
AGENDA
1. Approval of Minutes dated November 20,2017
Motion to approve both the minutes made by Councilor Bitzas and seconded by Councilor Calabrese. The vote was
3 YES, 0 NO approving the minutes (this vote was taken among the councilors present that were also on the 2017
Legislative Committee).
2. TOR-2017-12 - An Ordinance to amend the City of Agawam Code Chapter 49 to increase the salary
rate of City Council camera and audio personnel(Sponsored by Mayor Cohen) (1 of 2 Readings)
Mayor Sapelli reported that the Engineering Department is putting together a map of potential overlay district
parcels. Councilors Rossi and Bitzas want to form a committee to study proposed overlay parcels. The discussion
revolved around using Special Permitting as an alternate way to zone for solar. Agawam Zoning is silent as to
solar. The next step would to map out 10+acre parcels on the map. Engineering Department to factor out
anything(meaning parcel of land) that is not agricultural when preparing the proposed overlay district
map.
The committee recommended leaving the item on the table.
3. Any other business that may legally come before the Committee.
None.
4. Adjournment.
Motion to adjourn was moved and seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 7:51pm.
