Item 12. Any other matter that may le all come before the CitV Council.
President Rheault — By the way, I apologize for not welcoming Councilor Perry back.
It's nice to see him from his surgery and we'll start with Councilor Perry under "Any
Other Business".
Councilor Perry — Thank you Mr. President it's good to be back, believe me. Two
weeks at home, you get a little stir crazy after a while. You know what I'm saying but
just a couple things real quick. In regards to the Ad Hoc Reorganization Committee — I
appreciate the members that are on that— Councilor Rossi, Councilor Letellier, Councilor
Mineo and Council President Rheault. This committee is gonna heat up in January,
there's no question. I've been doing some work on the side in regards to getting a lot of
information together for our first meeting. I thought it would be better suited that I would
gather some information and some ideas that I have and then present it to the committee
and then move forward from there. Barbara's been working with me as well as Cheryl in
regards to getting that information together so we can move forward so I know there has
been some questions as to where this committee's been going and believe me, come
January, we gonna really move forward with it and I really look forward to it. And lastly,
I just want to wish all my colleagues here on the stage; Barbara who holds us all together;
the camera crew and all the people watching at home a very Merry Christmas and a
happy, healthy, safe New Year. Thank you.
President Rheault—Thank you. Councilor Messick?
•
Councilor Messick— Hi,just one thing I'd like to bring up. There was a public hearing
held by the CPA Committee about the School Street Park conceptual plan for the second
phase of School Street Park. There were a number of people there who did attend.
Thank you very much to those who came for attending, for speaking up, for all the ideas
that you gave. What we'd like to have happen though is they're still working on that
conceptual plan and if you have any input as to what you'd like to see in this second
phase of the park, please contact the Planning Department. You can go through the
Town Hall number and it's ext. 245 or contact Chris Sparks or both, that'd be great. I
know that there was a lot of support for a dog park. We'd like to keep hearing from
people, if there are more people out there who haven't spoken in favor or against that. As
I said we're still working on it and we'd like as much input into what the Town needs and
wants as we can possibly get. Also, Happy Holidays to everybody. Thank you very
much Barbara for your great work.
President Rheault—Thank you. Councilor Cichetti?
Councilor Cichetti — I'd just like to take the time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas
and a happy and safe New Year. Thanks.
i President Rheault—Thank you. Councilor Walsh?

Councilor Walsh — Yes, speaking of the School Street Park, Director Chris Sparks has
informed me that there is now ice skating at the park. It's going to be open on a daily
• basis from noon `til dusk for open skating. I guess in the earlier part of the day it will be
reserved for hockey so everybody that has ice skates, come on down, enjoy it, meet your
neighbors and Dope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
President Rheault—Thank you. Councilor Rossi?
•
Councilor Rossi—Yes, thank you. Just briefly, there's been a lot of inquiries lately from
the residents up in Feeding Hills and members of the Sewer Committee and just to let you
know that I "111 be calling for a meeting of the Sewer Committee people after the first of
the year and I've already spoken to Anthony Sylvia and we're going to be getting
• together with Tighe & Bonde Engineers to go over some details and then I'll call a full
blown meeting and we'll have the thing posted and invite all the committee members,
council members and public as well for any questions about Phases 11 and III. We hope
to hit the ground running at the first break in the spring. So in addition, I'd like to wish
everybody a Happy and Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year and hope
that we all make it through nice and safe. Thank you.
•
President Rheault—Thank you. Councilor Mineo?
Councilor Mineo —I'd just like to wish everybody a very happy holiday and wish all my
colleagues a Happy Holiday too and Barbara. Hopefully we'll have a very good year
• next year. Thank you.
President Rheault—Thank you. Councilor Magovern?
Councilor Magovern — Thank you. I'd like to thank everybody that showed up last
• night down at our village community sing down at the Veterans' Green. It was very well
attended. The Brownies were there, the Girl Scouts were there, a few boys showed up
and we had a great evening in singing and Christmas caroling, very, very much
appreciated. I think everybody had a good time and I'd like to wish the Council a very
Merry Christmas. Barbara, thank you again for being our glue and thank you to
• everybody and everybody a happy and safe New Year's Eve. See you all next year.
President Rheault—Councilor Simpson?
Councilor Simpson—Thank you. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
President Rheault—Councilor Bitzas?
Councilor Bitzm — Yes, two things. Last week I attended two parties at the Senior
Center— Christmas parties — and just to let you know if you don't know that Santa came
pretty early for them. Wednesday was the whole club — the Senior Center ladies and
• gentlemen — and they received $800 from Berkshire Power for equipment. The same
night they also gave $3000.00 when they heard that some people they were not happy
i 5
with one of the machines, tread mills, in the exercise room, so they gave the Friends
$3000.00 for that particular machine to be replaced with a lot better one and they ordered
one from Precision Fitness Equipment from Merrick, the $3000.00 and Friday I was in
the Senior Center and every table had a basket of cookies, about 240 people attended the
Christmas Party, the annual Christmas Party, it was fantastic. We had nice entertainment
and at each table for everybody was a box of Italian homemade cookies and I found out
the Berkshire Power gave $1500.00 to get 240 boxes for every senior and tomorrow,
Tuesday, they're going to give 140 I believe, or 160 boxes for the Meals on Wheels. So
that's very nice of them and I just wanted to let you know what's going on. And on
behalf of all the seniors I would Iike to publicly thank them for what they do. Thank you.
President Rheault—And even though—
Councilor Bitzas — Oh, Mr. President? I forgot the second part. I'd like to wish you, all
my colleagues, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a healthy New Year and
everybody watching this. Thank you.
President Rheault — Thank you and in that light, Councilor Letellier extended her best
wishes for a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all and on my behalf it's
been a pleasure to work with this Council again and I wish all of you and your families a
very Happy and healthy Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year and to
Barbara as well who works so diligently each day and keeps extremely close
communication with me and Councilor Rossi regarding the affairs of the town. So in that
• light, we wish you out there a very merry and healthy Christmas and a very prosperous
and healthy New Year and I entertain a motion to adjourn. All moved, seconded —
everyone — we are now adjourned. Thank you and good evening.
• Adjournment.
