TR-85-6 F. RESOLUTION NO: 85-6 1 WHEREAS, The Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Department of Food�.and Agriculture, has notified the Town under 1assachusetts General - g • Laws Chapter 7, Section 401,- Agricultural Preservation Restriction Program, of its intent to purchase, sell, or change the use of'belows listed parcels within our municipality; 1. Edward J. Stepanik farm 490 Southwick Street Feeding Hills, MA 29 acres 2. Geraldine Johnson ' 747 North West Street Feeding Hills, MA 24 acres 3. Robert and Gale Sullivan Brown 278 North West Street Feeding Hills, MA 5. 3 acres; and ' WHEREAS, It is necessary for the Council to properly give notice" to the citizens of Agawam.; and, THEREFORE, The Council by adopting this resolution hereby gives notice to the citizens of Agawam that the Commonwealth has notified the Town as stated above. Pursuant to that Section we wish to inform you that DFA is considering approximately -_29 __ acres of land within the Town of Agawam for inclusion in the Agricultural Preservation Restriction (APR) Program. The property, which is currently used for agricultural purposes is -privately owned and will remain so if it becomes a � - participant in the APR Program. The development rights would be acquired for the preservation of the land for agricultural purposes as provided in M.G.L. Chapter 132A, Sections 11A-D and Sections 31, 32 & 33 of Chapter 184. if you have any questions regarding the proposed acquisition, please contact Christine Sullivan, Craig Richov or myself at 617-727-6642.
