TR-86-1 k, l RESOLUTION NO. TR-86-�1 �. A Resolution accepting the Professional Development Grant under the provisions of Section 13 of Chapter 188, Acts of 1985. WHEREAS, it is a benefit to the education of the citizens to accept the Professional. Development Grant in the amount of $180, 028 in Fiscal Year 1986 and $124, 625 in Fiscal Year 1987 under the provisions of Section.13 of Chapter 188 of the Acts of 1985; WHEREAS, the School Committee at its meeting on November 26, 1985 voted acceptance of this grant; WHEREAS, a vote of the Town Council is also necessary in order to accept said grant; t THEREFORE, the Town Council hereby votes to accept said Professional Development Grant. Associate Superintendent for Business December 20, 1985 Mr. Reid Charles, Manager Town of Agawam - 36 Main Street Agawam, MA 01001 Dear Mr, Charles: At its meeting of November 26, 1985, the Agawam School Committee unanimously voted to accept the Professional Development Grant under the provisions of Sec. 13 of Chapter 188 of the Acts of 1985. The amount of the grant is $180,028 in FY 186 and $124,625 in FY '87. The grant will be distributed on February 15, 1986, August 15, 1986, February 15, 1987, and August 18, 1987. The allocation of funds will be determined according to an agreement negotiated by the school committee and the Agawam Education Associa- tion pursuant to G.L. Chapter 150E. This agreement is not part of, nor does it affect in any way, the basic salary negotiated by the school committee and the Agawam Education Association. There is no fiscal liability on the part of the school committee or the town since all of the funds will be provided by the state. T would appreciate it if.you would put this item on the town council agenda for the first meeting in January, 1986. I have enclosed a draft motion as suggested by the commissioner of education.
