002 Resolution Authorizing the Town Manager to
003 Submit Grant Applications to the Department of Environmental
004 Management for Partial Reimbursement of Acquisition of the YMCA
005 Property, Perry Lane, Agawam, MA
006 WHEREAS, The Town of Agawam has received information concerning the
007 availability of grant funds through the Department of Environmental
00 008 Management, Division of Conservation services, for acquiring and/or
009 developing conservation of parklands; and
010 WHEREAS It is in the best interest of the citizens and Agawam to

011 submit grant applications to the Department of Environmental Management,
012 Division of Conservation Services, for the Land and Water Conservation
—013 Fund Program and the urban Self-Help Program and the Self-Help Program;

' 015 WHEREAS, The Town would be eligible to receive up to 50% reimburse-
, . p 016 men . for acquisition/development for active recreation uses only under the
017 Land & water Conservation Fund Program and up to 80% reimbursement for
--018 acquiring land for active and passive recreation purMes under the Urban
—"019 Self--Help Program and up to 80% reimbursement for acquiring land for
`a --020 conservation and passive recreation unifier the Self-He1P Program; and
021 THEREFORE, The Council moves to authorize the Town Manager to apply
022 for the Land & Water Conservation Fund Program and the Urban Self-Help
023 Program and the Self-Help Program„ as delineated above.
