001 Resolution No. TR--86-24
002 A Resolution Authorizing the Town Manager to Apply For
003 Urban Systems Funding for the Signalization of the
004 Suffield Street and Shoemaker Lane Intersection
005 WHEREAS, The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission has conducted an
006 analysis of the traffic conditions at the intersection of Suffield Street
007 and Shoemaker Lane; and
008 WHEREAS, The results of this analysis indicate that warrants for the
009 justification of the installation of traffic signals are met; and
010 WHEREAS, Sight distance to the south is restricted at this
0ll intersection; and
012 WHEREAS, The installation of traffic signals will improve traffic
' 013 safety and reduce the frequency of angle collisions presently prevalent at
014 this intersection; and
015 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of
016 Agawam hereby authorizes the Town Manager to apply to the Massachusetts
017 Department of Public Works for inclusion of traffic signals at the
018 intersection of Suffield Street and Shoemaker Lane in the Suffield-Silver
019 Street Urban Systems Project currently under design.
