TR-90-57 TR-90-57 A RESOLUTION PURSUANT TO MAISMAUSSWS GGENERAL LAWS CHAPTER 3013, SECTION 12(b) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO SOLICIT AND AWARD ANY AND ALL CONTRACTS FOR ANY TERM NOT TO EXCEEED FIVE (5) YEARS WHEREAS; pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30B, Section 12(b), the Agawam Town Council must by majority vote authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to solicit and award any and all contracts for a term which exceeds three (3) years; WHEREAS; the ability to solicit and award any and all 19Iq/ contracts for any term not to exceed five (5) years will enable the Town of Agawam and the Agawam Public Schools flexibility in the procurement of supplies, equipment and services; WHEREAS; the ability to solicit and award any and all contracts for any term not to exceed five (5) years will result in lower operating expenses to the Town of Agawam and the Agawam. Public Schools; _ WHEREAS; it is in the best interests of the Town of Agawam and the Agawam Public Schools to maintain flexibility in the procurement process and keep operating expenses low; and WHEREAS; it is in the best interests of the Town of Agawam 10and the Agawam Public Schools to authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to solicit and award any and all contracts for any term . 7 not to exceed five (5) years. NOW THEREFORE; the Agawam Town Council does hereby resolve to authorize the Chief Procurement Officer of the Town of Agawam ' and the Agawam Public Schools to solicit and award any and all contracts Tor any term not to exceed five (5) years.
