I _ A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL LAWS.
CHAPTER 71, _SECTION 20A CONCERNING THE CREATION OF AN
INSTRUCTIONAL TRUST FUND ACCOUNT
WHEREAS, the acceptance of Massachusetts General Laws,
Chapter 71, Section 20A shall provide for the creation of an
instructional trust fund account for the benefit of the public
schools;
iWHEREAS, an instructional trust fund account will
allow for the raising of private funds and the appropriation of
public funds for the purchase of instructional materials for the
public schools;
WHEREAS, a trust fund committee will be composed of
two school committee members selected by the school committee,
one teacher from each school building appointed by the local
teachers organization, one elementary and one secondary
' administrator appointed by the superintendent of schools, one
parent from each school building appointed by the mayor, and the
superintendent of schools who shall serve as chairperson;
WHEREAS, said trust fund committee will determine the;.:7
expenditure of 90°s of the interest of such fund so long as 50%—.1
is designated for kindergarten through grade six, and 50% is
designated for grade seven through grade twelve ; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of Massachusetts General Laws,
Chapter 71, Section 20A is in the best interests of the Town 61
Agawam and the Agawam Public Schools: �
NOW THEREFORE, the Town Council of the Town of Agawam
hereby resolves to accept the provisions of Massachusetts
General Laws, Chapter 71 , Section 20A.
