TR-92-57 RESOLUTION TR-92- 57 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION OF THE CHARLES C. WRIGHT ` JQJ HOUSE, 5 NORTH WESTFIELD STREET, FEEDING HILLS, MASSACHUSETIS ' SPONSOR: COUNCILOR NANCY E. GRAVEL r WHEREAS, the protection and preservation of Agawam's historical assets is in the best interest of the Town of Agawam; and WHEREAS, the Charles C. Wright House, 5 North Westfield Street, Feeding Hills, Massachusetts, built in 1863, was listed in the Town of Agawam's 1985 Inventory of Historic Resources; and WHEREAS, the Feeding Hills Post Office was locattd in the front room of this hoarse around the turn of the century; and WHEREAS, the Charles C. Wright House is on of the few old residences left in Feeding Hills Center; and WHEREAS, the location as well as the historic character of the Charles C. Wright House gives Feeding Hills its focal point and unique character; and t"7 WHEREAS, there have been recent proposals to demolish this strucl a to facilitate the construction of a new commercial establishment; andrr, :-•E=. M -0 WHEREAS, many Feeding Hills residents have come forth to expressrstrheij�='. desire to see this building remain intact; NIX THEREFORE, the Agawam Town Council hereby resolves to support tY�e�= preservation of the Charles C. Wright House and will lend any assistlte possible to restore and rennovate this structure for expanded commercial use.
