AN ACT REQUIRING THE REPORTING OF FELONY CONVICTIONS TO THE COMMISSIONER OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO VERIFY ELIGIBILITY FOR CERTAIN FIREARM LICENSES. 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 Chapter 140 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting 2 after section 131J, the following new section: — 3 Section 131 K. Notwithstanding the provisions of any other 4 law to the contrary, the court in which a person is convicted of 5 a felony or the unlawful use, possession or sale of a narcotic or 6 harmful drug, shall report immediately to the department of 7 public safety the name or names of the person so convicted.
