TR-93-15 -h TR-93-15 A RESOLUTICN ALLOWING TAX EXEMPTION FOR AGAWAM'S VETERAN SERVICE OFCANIZATIONS WHEREAS, Agawam's veteran service organizations are incorporated organizations whose members are veterans of wars in which the United States has been engaged, and WHEREAS, Agawam's veteran service organizations are charitable organizations whose real and personal property valuation now exceeds two hundred thousand ($200,000) dollars; and WHEREAS, Agawam's veteran service organizations contribute generously to worthwhile charitable and civic activities in Agawam; and WHEREAS, Agawam's veteran service organizations request that the Town of Agawam accept the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 59, Section 5, Clause 5A which will raise their real and personal property tax exemption to four hundred thousand ($400,000) dollars; and WHEREAS, The acceptance of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 59, Section 5, Clause 5A is in the best interests of the Town of Agawam; and NOW THEREFORE, The Agawam Town Council hereby resolves to accept the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 59, ' Section 5, Clause 5A.
