Agawam, Ma 0 100 1 (413) 821-9976 Mayor Susan Dawson Town of Agawam 36 Main Street Agawam, MA 01001 Dear Mayor Susan Dawson, 1, Kenneth John Largay, am writing to you because of my interest in this community and my desire to continue serving on the Agawam Liquor License Commission. I have been part of the Agawam community for over twenty one years and I have been fortunate enough to have served on the Liquor Commission for the past eight years, six of which I have served as current Chairman. I have enjoyed the experiences and interactions that I have had while serving on the License Commission for the last Eight years. As a retired lieutenant for the Hampden County Sheriffs Department, having served thirteen years,I have dealt with the legal aspects that threaten a community many times over. I enjoyed a productive career, but had to retire from the Sheriffs Department in the year 2000 due to back injury(for which I required four back surgeries). In addition, I have dealt with the public in a different perspective. I became a restaurateur in 1998, 1 co-owned and worked at The Rotary in West Springfield from 1998-1999 and then became co-owner and manager of Patsy's restaurant and bar in West Springfield from 1998- 200 1. We had a profitable bar and a seasonal liquor license; both of which taught us a great deal about the community, politics and legal matters. As a restaurant and bar owner, I learned a great deal about the topics that the Liquor Commission has to address on a daily basis. As a retired Sheriffs Department lieutenant, I have taken my legal knowledge to a new level while serving on the Liquor Commission. Because of my experience and my desire to serve the community, I am interested in continuing to serve on the Liquor Commission and any other board that would benefit our tow'n. I truly appreciate your time and consideration and thank you for your hard work, ethical manner and devotion to our community. Sincerely, Kenneth John Largay
