TR-2009-40- Resolution to Create a Gift Account for the School Street Barn Since the completion of the School Street Barn Reuse Study which you commissioned in May of 2008, the Planning Department has been investigating, with the assistance of the School Street Barn Advisory Committee, possible sources of funding to rehabilitate the barn and to fund the maintenance activities which historic structures demand.-----' During the upcoming months, the Committee will be applying for restoration funds. In addition, the Committee would like to initiate some fund-raising activities similar to those which were so successfully orchestrated by the Friends of the Senior Center. At the present time, there are a couple of activities which need to be undertaken to prepare for the grant funding rounds. Most importantly, is to hire a historic preservation specialist to prepare the bid specifications so the rehabilitation work, if funded, can ber advertised. At the current time, no funding is available for this activity. ThereforEHJnd- raising is critical to the continued restoration of this important Agawarn landmark.
