A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE NY AN
ALL DOCUMENTS PERTAINING TO THE EXERCISE OF TH ITY'S
PURCHASE OF THE PROPERTY OWNED BY THE AGAWAM
SPORTSMAN'S CLUB, INC., 358 COREY STREET, AGAWAM,
HAMPDEN COUNTY, MASSACHUSETTS
(Sponsored by Robert E. Rossi,Vice President of the Agawam City Council)
WHEREAS, the City of Agawam has recognized that the property located at 358 Corey
Street known as the Agawam Sportsman's Club to be a central parcel of property for the
purposes of open and recreational space for all who live and visit the City of Agawam; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of this property is most advantageous to the City of
Agawam for the purposes of providing year-round passive and active recreational opportunities
given its proximity to the School Street Park; and
WHEREAS, the Agawam Community Preservation Act Committee has recommended
and authorized approval of Community Preservation appropriations in accordance with M.G.L,
Ch. 44B with a limited cap up to $320,000.00 from the Open Space Fund for the negotiation and
execution of said purchase.
NOW THEREFORE,THE AGAWAM CITY COUNCIL hereby resolves to authorize
the Mayor to negotiate and execute any and all documents pertaining to the purchase and
acquisition of the property now owned by the Agawam Sportsman's Club, Inc. which consists of
approximately five (5) acres of land located at 358 Corey Street, Agawam, Hampden County,
Massachusetts,
