A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RESERVATION AND APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FROM
THE COMMUNITY PRESERVATION FUND
WHEREAS,the voters of Agawam chose to form a Community Preservation Committee, and
WHEREAS, one of the Community Preservation Committee's requirements is that it reserves funds for
specific uses under the Community Preservation Act;
WHEREAS, the Community Preservation Committee has recommended that$53,108.45 should be
reserved for Open Space from the Community Preservation Fund estimated annual fund revenue for fiscal year

reserved for Budgeted Reserve from the Community Preservation Fund estimated annual fund revenue fiscal year
2012.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE AGAWAM CITY COUNCIL that funds from the
Community Preservation Fund estimated annual fund revenue for Fiscal Year 2012 shall be reserved as
follows:
$53,108.45 reserved for Open Space;
$53,108.45 reserved for Historic Resources;

based on some recommendations by our City Auditor.

I was just reviewing the resolution TR-2011-36 and noticed that the error in paragraph four was not
corrected. The fiscal year should be 2012 not 2011. Not sure if it has gone in the packets yet. Jen is out

RE: Community Preservation Reserves
Each year the CPA committee must reserve the annual CPA revenues as follows: 10 % for
Histoflc, 10%for Open Space, 10% for Affordable Housing, 65%to a Budgeted Reserve and
5%for administrative expenses.
The reserves must be done prior to the end of the fiscal year to allow for access to the
administrative funds for payroll purposes and anticipated administrative expenses.
I have attached the resolution for review and included the calculation used for this years
reserves. Let me know if you have any questions or comments.
