TOR-2013-2 AMEND CH 49 PERSONNEL PV50 TOR-2013-2 0� 5 A?0/ AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 49 OF THE CODE OF THE TOWN OF AGAWAM ENTITLED "PERSONNEL" (Sponsored by Councilors Johnson & Perry) WHEREAS, the Agawam City Council desires to eliminate the meeting stipend for the Administrative Assistant to the Council as set forth in §49-7 B (1) of the Code of the Town of Agawam; and WHEREAS, the Agawarn City Council desires to clarify the compensation of the Administrative Assistant to the Council as set forth in §49-7 D (1) of the Code of the Town of Agawarn; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Town of Agawam to eliminate the meeting stipend and to clarify the compensation of the Administrative Assistant to the Council; and NOW THEREFORE, the AGAWAM CITY COUNCIL hereby resolves, ordains, and enacts the following amendments to the Code of the Town of Agawam, effective July 1, 2013: 1. Amend Section W-W13)(1) to read as follows: "Meetinja Coverage in the Absence of the Administrative Assistant to the Council: In the discretion of the Council President, meeting coverage for absences of the Administrative Assistant to the Council may be filled by a member of the Council or by an existing clerical employee of the town. If the absence is covered by an existing clerical employee of the town, that employee shall be compensated in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement by and between the Town of Agawam and the Clerical Union." 2. Amend Section 449-7 D (1) to read as follows: "The Administrative Assistant to the Council shall receive an annual salary of $42,833 and shall receive the same cost of living increases afforded members of the Agawam Administrative Union as contained in the collective bargaining agreement by and between the Town of Agawam and the Agawam Administrative Union. The Administrative Assistant to the Council shall receive the same vacation leave, holidays, sick leave, bereavement leave, incentive leave and longevity that are specified in the current collective bargaining agreement by and between the Town of Agawam and the Agawam Administrative Union."
