WHEREAS,The Town of Agawam holds Title the property at 30 Royal Lane within the
Town of Agawam pursuant to Judgment in Tax/lien Case#14-TL-149821
WHEREAS, The property located at 30 Royal Labe within the Town of Agawam is
unsecured and unsafe and presents an immediate danger to the health safety and welfare
of the citizens of the Town of Agawam per the Town of Agawam Inspection Services
WHEREAS,The Town of Agawam has instituted a Blight Program expressly to act on
unsecured and unsafe structures within the Town of Agawam;
WHEREAS, The optimum solution to dealing with the unsecured and unsafe building(s)
located at 30 Royal Lane within the Town of Agawam is to perform demolition and haul
away the debris created by the demolition of the structure;
WHEREAS, The Town of Agawam obtained three quotes from demolition companies
and the lowest best estimate to demolish and haul away the structure located at 30 Royal
Lane within Agawam is$16,500.00 (sixteen thousand five dollars and no cents);
WHEREAS, It is the Town of Agawam's intention to recoup the amount of$16,500.00
by placing a lien on the property and/or recouping the amount upon the auctioning off of
said property located at 30 Royal Lane within Agawam;
WHERAS,There are sufficient funds available in free cash; and
NOW THEREFORE,The City Council of Agawam appropriates an amount not to
exceed$16,500.00 from free cash to fund the demolition and hauling away of the
unsecured and unsafe structure(s)located at 30 Royal Lane within the Town of Agawam.

Dear Mrs. & Mr. Gorman,
The Town of Agawam has received several complaints regarding the condition of your property
located at 30 Royal Lane in Agawam, MA (Assessor's.parcel ID H14-10-0006 .This office
followed up on said complaints and inspected the property on May 13,213.
In my capacity as Building Inspector for the Town of Agawam l have determined the property in
question is in violation of Massachusetts State Building Code 8th: dition I have found: the
building is inhabited; most of the roof has collapsed and is open to the weather. One side o
the building is boarded up with plywood that is not secure. One other side of the building i
overgrown with vegetation. The front stairs are rotted and the exterior has been neglected since
the house fire which took place several years ago. The property is not properly cordoned off to
protect the public. This building is in danger of collapse,

Pursuant to Massachusetts State Building Code 8th Edition(780 Cl ) Section 116, you are
hereby ordered to remove this structure as it presents an attractive nuisance and is a danger to the
public. You have. until 12. 0 P.M. of the day following receipt of:this notice to cordon off the
property with secure six foot high fencing and to make arrangements to have the structure torn,
down.
Furthermore pursuant to Town of Agawam Zoning Bylaws Chapter 180:
18 -8 Supplemental regulations C. Unsafe buildings"This chapter shall not be
considered as preventing the strengthening or the restoration to a safe condition n of any
building or wall declared unsafe by the Inspector of Buildings". I,have'deemed this
building unsafe and beyond repair or restoration.
• 180-16 Violations and penalties"Any person,partnership, trust,association or
corporation violating any provision of this code, any condition under which any permit is
issued or y decision rendered. y the Board of Appeals shall be fined not more than
100 nor less than$25 for each offense. Each day that such offense exists shall constitute
a separate offense under this section."
The Town of Agawam reserves the right to pursue any and A legal remedies at its disposal with
regard to this matter.
