The Committee will provide an overview of the financial performance of the Community Preservation Act (CPA) fund, share recent accomplishments and also seek input on future projects and spending. Date: Wednesday June 28, 2017 Time: 7:00 PM Place: Agawam Public Library Community Room CPA allows communities to create a local Community Preservation Fund for open space protection, historic preservation, affordable housing and outdoor recreation. The CPA statute also creates a statewide Community Preservation Trust Fund, administered by the Department of Revenue (DOR), which provides distributions each year to communities that have adopted CPA. Currently, the CPA fund has $592,244 reserved to be used for Open Space preservation, $82,509 reserved for the preservation of historic resources and $639,239 reserved for the creation and support of community housing. There is also an additional $1,232,198 reserved which is discretionary and may also be used for the creation of recreation opportunities or any of the above three categories.
