(BEC), A GZA Company, prepared site plans for the development of a new Stop & Shop supermarket in Agawam, Massachusetts. These drawings were prepared for The Richmond Com- pany, Inc., and were submitted to the Town of Agawam for local approvals. The BEC site plans were subsequently utilized for the construction of the supermarket. BEC has been asked to provide a letter of authorization for others to utilize these plans for purposes other than originally intended. It is our understanding that Stop & Shop wishes to use the prior site development plans to assist them in describing to the Town of Agawam some proposed minor improvements to the supermarket consisting of ramps and handrails in the shipping and receiving areas. BEC does not object to the historic site development drawings being used as an aid in describing new work at the facility; however, we must point out that the infor- mation shown on the site development drawings was for BEC's client to com- municate what was intended to be constructed, and the drawings mayor may not depict what actually was constructed.
