21.5 DRAINAGE
Grading and drainage shall be designed to minimize pooling of water, accumulation of ice, or
flow of water across the base of the curb cut.
21.6 WIDTH
The minimum width of a curb cut shall be 36 inches (36" = 9i4mm), exclusive of flared sides.
See Fig. 2ic.
21.6.1 Landing width: Where a perpendicular curb cut is provided, a landing the width of the curb cu
~hall be provided fit the top of thc curb out. The landing shall be 48 inches (48"= 121 9mm) in
length. The slope of said landing shall not exceed one-in-50 (1 :50) (2%) in any direction.
21.7 FLARED SIDES
Sides of curb cuts shall extend at least 24 inches (24" = 610mm) at the curb. The maximum
slope of the flare is one-in-ten (1: 1 0) (10%). Curbing at the flared sides must blend with the
slope of the flared sides. See Fig. 21c.

I am just now getting a chance to take a look at the Sarat Ford plans that were sent to me this morning. Engineering first heard
about this project on Tuesday. Our review is not complete at this time. Engineering has the following comments:
1. The dimensions of the parking spaces and accessible aisle need to be shown on the plans. The eastern most accessible
space appears to be too narrow. Accessible parking spaces cannot exceed 2% pitch in any direction.
2. A detail of the accessible ramp needs to be added to the plans which shall meet all current ADA/AAB and other
applicable standards.
3. The attached accessible parking detail and sign needs to be shown on the plans. The Accessible parking sign needs to
be labeled.
4. Engineering has not had a chance to perform a site visit and therefore may have additional comments.
