I went through the design and planning stages prior to construction, everything was approved and I believe the project went quite well. The new building is attractive and will work well for us. One of the design features was the placement of our 3 dumpsters (1 Yankee Mattress, 2 Dominos) in the rear of the building. Prior to this project our dumpsters were located on the first level in our main parking lot. I had some repaving done in the rear parking lot to accommodate for the dumpsters which I had moved in September. After the dumpsters were moved, I was speaking with a dumpster truck driver and he mentioned that the new placement made it difficult for the driver to empty the container and get back on North Street. He told me there was not quite enough room between the street and the building, the dumpsters were right against the building, for him to maneuver his truck to join in with traffic safely. I watched him pull out and could see what he was describing to me. Shortly after this I made the decision to have the dumpsters moved back to the main parking lot to allow for easier access for the drivers. This lot is large and flat and allows for easy and safe service. Originally, we planned on keeping the dumpsters in the rear lot permanently. They take up space in our main lot and diminish the amount of snow we can store in the winter. My lot plan was architect designed and on paper it appeared that the back lot would work well for the dumpsters but in reality the space is very tight. I am writing to you about the letterI received from the Planning Board. I have attached this letter for your review. I have also attached a copy of the site plan showing the front and main parking lot areas showing dumpster locations in each. Your consideration of my situation would be appreciated. I;would welcome your input on my situationand would be happy to answer any questions you might have. I can be reached daily at the Yankee Mattress Factory location or at 786-0999. Sincerely, '0 .
