Engineering recommends approval of the plans. However we have the following comment: 1. The proposed project is increasing impervious area by 120 SF which will have a negligible effect on stormwater runoff. A planter similar to what currently exists could be installed in front of the proposed building to make up for that loss of impervious area. Engineering reserves the right to make additional comments as new information is submitted. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact this division. (10)-sets of 24x36 and (1)-set of 11x17 project plans prepared by VHB, including overall plan, site alteration plan and existing conditions plans, as well as building plan prepared by Glynn Geotechnical Engineering. Our client proposes to redevelop a portion of the property located at 1623 Main Street, Agawam, MA. The redevelopment area is located in the southern portion of the existing park, in the water park portion of the park. The project involves the addition of changing rooms to an existing changing room identified as "Women's Bath House". The proposed building addition is 360 square feet in area and is planned as a single story exterior building. The area planned for the expansion is currently a concrete paved area with a planter that measures approximately 120 square feet. The planter will be removed and the impervious area of the work area will be increased by this 120 square feet. This will generate an extremely minor increase in stormwater runoff, but will have no effect in the quantity of runoff from the overall park. None of the work proposed for this project falls within resource areas regulated by the Massachusetts Wetland Protection Act and the Massachusetts Rivers Act. As such, a filing with the Agawam Conservation Commission is not intended.
