Dear Councilors:
I will be unable to attend the continued public hearing for the new zoning map on May 7, 2007
since I will be out of the country. Attached you will find a revised map. Changes have been
made in response to comments made by Councilor Letellier.at the April 17, 2007 public hearing.
Specifically, both the Wireless Telecommunication Overlay District and the Historic
Preservation District have been referenced on the map. Other than these changes, the map is as
shown at the April 17`'meeting.
The Planning Board unanimously voted to support the new map. I hope that Council will do the
same.

Re: Zoning Map
Debbie,
I have the proposed zoning map and it looks great. It is going to make various proceedings easier as
this map is transportable and certified copies can be obtained for various hearings if necessary. Also it
is my understanding that it will be available with the GIS information, as a result this will allow
individuals instant access to the map online thereby speeding up permitting and other applications.
Thanks
Vince

Dear Councilors:
Attached please find the proposed new zoning map for the Town of Agawam. The map is a
collaboration between the Planning Office and the Building Department. It has gone through
countless revisions to ensure that it is an accurate copy of the map currently used by the Town
and located in the Building Department.
This is very exciting time for the Town. When adopted, the map will not only be much easier to
read and update than the 1950's oil skin map hanging in the Building Department, but in addition,
all of its information will be located on the Town's Geographic Information System accessible to
all departments and the public.
The Council must approve the new map as it would a normal zoning amendment. I will attend
your April 17, 2007 meeting to answer any questions.
Sincerely,
5
