Due to its location at one of the busiest intersections in Agawam, the close proximity of an elementary school, and the high volume of vehicles entering and exiting the site, a formal construction/traffic plan must be submitted to the Planning Board for its review. During the construction process the working area will be marked off'with safety ribbon and 3 ft. orange safety cones. 2. Steel shoring will be used to eliminate any possibility of soils sidewall failun.. 3. Pedestrian traffic will be prohibited witbin the work area. 4. Vehicular traffic will be prohibited within the work area and surrounding area. 5_ Delivery of the new tank will be scheduled for early morning before traffic of any sort begins. The tattle will be ofoaded and placed directly in the prepared Wk vault in order to prevent any additional congestion at the site. 6. At this time it is not expected that a police detail will be required,but such hoed will be evaluated daily. 7. Traffic to the two pump islands closest to the underground tank area will be closed during the construction process. 8. All decisions during the construction prvoess shall be made solely on.safety considerations, it being the intention of the contractor and station operator to minimize problems and assure safety to workers,employees, customers, and the general public.
