Morassi, Councilor John Negrucci, Councilor Dennis Perry, Councilor Robert Rossi, Councilor Jill Simpson, Councilor Dear Councilors: At its duly called meeting held on December 14, 2000, the Agawam Planning Board voted unanimously to send a positive recommendations in support of the proposed Zoning Amendment as amended which would allow parking and parking lots in the Agricultural District when serving as an accessory to a conforming Amusement Park. The amended version is attached. The proposed amendment will allow temporary parking in an Agricultural District after Site Plan Approval by the Planning Board and the issuance of a Special Permit by the Board of Appeals. The Planning Board has spent considerable time revising the originally proposed amendment based upon input received during the public hearing. The revisions specifically tie the parking to"existing conforming amusement park containing at least three(3) acre of land". The earlier version was too open-ended and the Board was concerned that it would negatively impact Agawam's Agricultural District. The Town Solicitor also requested that the Board provide a definition of Amusement Park since there is presently no definition in the Zoning Ordinance. The Zoning Officer, Dominic Urbinati, has reviewed the proposed revisions and supports them. The Board asks that the attached amendments to the earlier version be made during the Council's second reading of the ordinance. Sincerely, WN Charles R.
