Regarding: New Shed/Red Tape

I have gone to great lengths to get a shed for the department. I worked with Tony Albro to have his crew of
carpenters do the labor to save money. I have taken advantage of the carpenters down time, (not in the schools)
to get them to start the construction of our shed. The shed is 3/4 completed now however, the raw lumber is
exposed to the weather. The carpenters were ready to put the roof shingles on the building when our building
official notified Tony's crew to cease and desist the work pending the paper trail,eg. building permit, site plan
approval etc. This misdirected authority is causing the exposed lumber on the shed to show signs of weathering.
I understand the necessity to submit the appropriate documents and applications, , I would have submitted the
forms long ago prior to the construction if I thought this would create such a problem. The carpenters will soon
be in the schools and not available to me for quite some time. This will leave the shed incomplete and certainly
cause the materials on the shed to deteriorate rapidly as the weather gets colder.
Tony has filed the building permit application and I have submitted the site plans to Debra for their board to
approve. l do not foresee any problems.
I think it would be in our best interest to at the very least get the roof shingled and protected from the weather. I
believe the next planning board meeting is in September.
