following:
On Tuesday 2/17/04 Ron Huot from Anderson Associates stopped in to Engineering to drop off an
updated Preliminary Plan for Harvard Ave. This plan reflects most of the changes requested in our memo
to Planning dated February 5, 2004. The following items can be addressed in the Definitive submittal;
1. On the Plan, Harvard Street in the Title Box should be changed to Harvard Avenue.
2. The southern catch basin at the throat of the cul-de-sac should be relocated southerly so that it
butts against the southern radius of the throat of the cul-de-sac.
3. We will require the location of all trees 8" in diameter or greater measured 5' from the ground be
shown.

following:
A member of Engineering spoke with Ron Huot from Anderson Associates. Anderson Associates
prepared the Preliminary Plan for Harvard Ave. The following items were discussed with Mr. Huot. He
said that he would add these to the Plan.
1. The Locus Map should have a scale on it, scale: I"=1200' as specified in Preliminary Plan
submittal requirements.
2. On the Plan, Harvard Street should be changed to Harvard Avenue.
3. In anticipation of the possibility of another segment of Harvard Ave. being constructed in the
future, we suggest that this Preliminary Plan's street be changed to East Harvard Lane.
4. Zone lines and designations should be included.
5. Include tree line and location of all trees 8" in diameter or greater measured 5' from the ground.
b. Proposed contours at 2' intervals are needed .
7. Spot grades on the center line of the proposed street are needed at high pt., low pt., and street
intersection.
8. The Plan should show where existing utility stubs are located.
9. Please show location of proposed sidewalks. The Developer may be required to construct
sidewalks along a portion of Cambridge Street to compensate for sidewalks only being installed
on one side of Harvard Ave.
10. We would like to see the south side throat of the cul-de-sac made tangent with the entrance part
of Harvard Ave. We feel that the present design(a sharp angle)will impede winter plowing
operations.
Other items of concern (test boring, road width, sidewalks, etc.) have been addressed in the letter from
Anderson Associates to the Planning Board.

To the Agawam Planning Board,
Mr. Grimaldi is applying for a two lot subdivision and the modification of the existing
Harvard Avenue layout. An environmental study was done by Joe Petronino of
Environmental Services and wetland lines were mapped and accepted by the Agawam
Conservation Commission. It is for this reason that a modification of Harvard Avenue is
being proposed. The proposed lots are consistent with the existing lots in the area and
with the Town Master Plan.We are also asking for the planning board to designate this
new street a place instead of a lane so that 26' pavement can be installed instead of 30' of
pavement since the place is only 263' in length and will service only 2 homes. Also the
petitioner is requesting that side walks be installed only on the south side of the place
since this is the side for both homes.
The developer will submit definitive plans in a timely fashion once the preliminary plans
are approved and construction will begin as soon as definitive plans are approved. Test
boring will be done before final plan approval and as soon as weather permits.The site
has existing sewer, water and drainage stubs leading onto the site and these will be used.
